The United State Postal Service has announced that it is conducting an assessment of the Downtown Tyler Post Office to see if it could be eliminated and consolidated with another Post Office. Your Heart of Tyler non-profit and the Tyler Main Street Department are joining together with you to see that our downtown post office stays open. Here are some things we all can do to help:

 

  • VISIT GALLERY MAIN STREET to sign our in-office petition.
  • TAKE A PETITION WITH YOU. Drop by our office at 110 W. Erwin to pick up a copy of our petition. Gather signatures and turn back in to our office by noon on Friday, Aug. 27.
  • PRINT OUR PETITION (get a copy at this link), gather signatures and return to our office at 110 W. Erwin by noon on Friday, Aug. 27.
  • CONTACT postal officials and your Federal legislators (information below)!
  • WRITE Letters to the Editor of the Tyler Morning Telegraph. Their guidelines:

    Reader comments are invited for the "As You See It" forum to be carried in the

     daily opinion section of the Tyler Morning Telegraph.

     Responses should be no more than 350 words and should be received at

     the newspaper office by Thursday to allow time for processing.
